The police are looking for a male-female duo who pulled off a grand larceny confidence scam in the Bronx.

The description of the crime is a bit convoluted, but in short, the pair convinced the victim, a 26-year-old woman, to take out money from her bank account and hand it over to them, after the male half of the team accused her of stealing money from him. She visited the ATM to prove that she hadn’t stolen the money, according to the report.

The crime occurred near 1550 Westchester Avenue in the Bronx on July 22nd at around 10:25 a.m. Suspect #1 is described as a Hispanic woman in her 40s, roughly 5’5″ and 150 pounds, with light hair. Suspect #2 is a Hispanic man between 30 and 35, approximately 5’8″ and 180 pounds, with dark hair. Both spoke in Spanish to the victim.

As always, anyone with info about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). You can also send in tips by visiting the Crime Stoppers website at NYPDCrimeStoppers.com or by texting tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577.
