An ambulance rushing to a double shooting in Bronx earlier today crashed into another vehicle, critically injuring the car’s driver, according to authorities.
The ambulance was responding to a shooting at East 167th Street and Bryant Avenue in Foxhurst that left one man in his 20s with a life-threatening gunshot wound to the face and the other shot in the hip at around 6:20 p.m., according to the FDNY.
The EMTs were just four blocks away when their ambulance struck another vehicle near Southern Boulevard and Barretto Street, according to authorities.
Both EMTs suffered minor injuries and were taken to Lincoln Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the other vehicle was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition, accoroding to officials.
Another ambulance quickly showed up on scene to treat the gunshot victims, FDNY officials said. Both men were taken to Lincoln Hospital.
