There were 427 foreclosure cases in the third quarter of the year, up 44% year-over-year, and 18% more than in the second quarter of 2023, as Property Shark’s NYC foreclosure report for Q3 2023 shows.

Meanwhile, the Bronx registered the largest increase in lis pendens, up from 10 in the second quarter to 209 in the third quarter, representing a 1,990% increase.
Nationally, lis pendens increased 35% quarter-over-quarter, with filings trending upward in four out of five boroughs.
In terms of foreclosures, the Bronx registered 20 cases, up 82% year-over-year.
