About Cardinal McCloskey Community Services
Since 1946, Cardinal McCloskey Community Services (CMCS) has been here to help protect some of the most vulnerable members of our communities. From children and teens who have suffered neglect and trauma to adults with developmental disabilities, we are here to serve others. We advocate and serve to protect and enrich the lives of those in need.
CMCS is a not-for-profit, social service agency that provides services to the children in our foster care programs, preschool education to over 2,000 three and four year-olds from low income families, and helping over 200 developmentally disabled adults lead more fulfilling and independent lives.
We are non-sectarian organization, which:
- provides 35 programs & services in 44 sites throughout Westchester, Rockland, the Bronx, and Harlem;
- employs over 1,100 staff members including professionals from the fields of social work, education, psychiatry, psychology, medicine and child-care;
- relies on the dedicated services of 288 certified foster homes and 147 trained day care providers to ensure the delivery of quality services.
