A former federal Transportation Security Administration officer pleaded guilty Thursday to bribery and extortion charges related to accepting cash in exchange for allowing what she believed was painkiller pills to pass through an airport.

Two drug couriers who imported in Malta nearly a kilo of cocaine in their stomachs were jailed for eight years and fined €23,000.

Solomon Venable, 60, of Inwood Avenue, Bronx, was arrested at Kohl's Department Store, East Main Street, Cortlandt, on a misdemeanor charge of petty larceny.
