New York City police say a 5-year-old boy walking down a Bronx street was shot in his left calf when gunfire erupted.
The child was hit just after 10 p.m. Thursday when he and his mother were walking on Astor Avenue. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced to be in a stable condition.
Police say the child was not the shooters’ intended target. The case remains under investigation.
