NYC Parks Bronx Borough Commissioner Iris RodriguezRosa will join Deputy Borough President Marricka ScottMcFadden, City Council Member Andy King, family members of Agnes Haywood and community members to cut the ribbon on Agnes Haywood Playground tomorrow, Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. As part of the celebration, Parks and Council Member King will host activities for kids and families, including arts and crafts, jump rope, hula hoops, and a basketball game on the newly repaved courts.
The newly transformed Agnes Haywood Playground boasts updated play equipment, swings, adult fitness equipment, ADA compliant play areas, bleachers, picnic table areas, basketball courts, a soccer field, and a running track.
The $3.5 million project was funded by a $2.5 million allocation from Council Member King, $257,000 from Mayor Bill de Blasio, and $700,000 from Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
