Tomorrow night, the New York City Council will hold a public hearing for Bronx residents to provide feedback on the city’s management of the December 2010 blizzard.
The hearing is an opportunity for Bronx residents to provide testimony about problems faced in the borough and how the City can be better prepared in the future.
While recent City responses to inclement weather have shown marked-improvement, it is important that we learn from the dramatic failures of December as we develop plans for future response. Bronx, as is often the case with city services, received a sub-standard city response to this blizzard and as a result, we expect a large number of city officials, civic leaders and members of the community to testify.
