Metro-North service is slowly getting back on track after a power outage left hundreds of passengers stranded Thursday night.
Metro-North says a computer system that controls all Metro-North train movements went down at 7:45 p.m., suspending service on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines.
All inbound trains were brought to a stop at their nearest station, and customers were allowed to disembark.
Metro North says that all trains had power, and there was heat and light on board to those who stayed on.
Service was restored in the 10:00 p.m., but there were still major delays as of 11:30 p.m. Thursday evening.
The outage is just the latest in a string of problems for Metro-North in the past year.
Wednesday night, a train got stuck, forcing 200 people to evacuate.
Meanwhile, the Federal Railroad Administration has issued an emergency order for Metro-North in the wake of the December derailment.
