Pedestrian Raul Irizarry, 67, Dead In A Motor Vehicle Collision

On Monday, November 16, 2020, approximately 0455 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision, involving a pedestrian opposite 801 Soundview Avenue, within the confines of the 43rd Precinct in the Bronx.

Upon arrival, officers observed an 67-year-old male with trauma about the body.

EMS responded and transported the male pedestrian to NYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi, where he was pronounced deceased.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 57-year-old male operator of a 2019 Ram cargo van was traveling northbound on Soundview Avenue, struck a male pedestrian mid-block.

The driver remained on scene.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
