The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in ascertaining the whereabouts of the unidentified male, seen in the attached surveillance photographs and video clip, who is sought in connection with an assault in transit and a hate crime, which occurred within the confines of the 42nd Precinct / Transit District 12 in the Bronx.
Details are as follows.
It was reported to police that on Wednesday, December 01, 2021, at 0619 hours, on the southbound platform of the 174th Street station (2 and 5 Lines), the victim, a 58-year-old female, was approached by an unidentified male, who made an anti-Chinese statement and slapped her in her face.
The unidentified male fled.
The victim suffered pain to her face and a scratch to her nose. She refused medical attention.
The investigation by the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is ongoing.
