Assemblywoman Naomi Rivera, in collaboration with Beth Abraham Family of Health Services, is continuing to support the local businesses in the 80th District.
On Sunday, August 15, Assemblywoman Rivera would like to invite you to the Third Annual Allerton Avenue Street Festival taking place from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
The purpose of this event is to promote the businesses on Allerton Avenue. This year we will be closing Allerton Avenue between Barnes and Wallace Avenue for the purpose of live musical performances featuring Jose Alberto El Canario, Kevin Ceballo and others. On this block there will also be an array of festive vendors. Additionally, Assemblywoman Naomi Rivera will be presenting awards to several individuals and institutions that have served our community.
This year, permission has been obtained to use the sidewalks and curb lanes from White Plains Road to Boston Road for a sidewalk sale. On these sidewalks and curb lanes, local merchants will be selling and promoting their goodsand services.
New this year, the Assemblywoman, along with Montifiore Medical Center, is offering free blood pressure screenings to all those in attendance.
Assemblywoman Rivera states: “This year, I want my summer events to incorporate initiatives that allow my constituents to be proactive about their health. We all need to practice healthy lifestyles in the ever-changing world of health care policies and coverage. I hope to see you browsing the many local treasures located on Allerton Avenue this Sunday.”
