On Monday, January 11, 2021, at approximately 1115 hours, police responded to a 911 call of an object (possibly a body), floating in the East River in the vicinity of 30 Road and Vernon Boulevard, within the confines of the 114th Precinct in Queens.
Responding NYPD Harbor units retrieved the body and brought it to the Astoria Ferry Terminal, where it was determined, after examination, that the body of an unidentified adult male was inside of a garbage bag, wrapped in a blanket with duct tape securing these items to the body.
EMS responded to the location and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
