On the eve of this year’s Memorial Day celebrations, we would like to publish an intriguing story, which comes to us from quite far away.

Recently, a gentleman from Italy, by the name of Maurizio De Angelis, from the Historical Searches Group at grupporicerchestoriche.it, contacted us with an unusual request – to help him find the descendants of an US soldier, who most probably perished in Italy during World War II.

The photo of the dog tag reads:

T J MCINTYRE       C
32007248       T42 0
MARGARET ROE  T42
3211 PARK AVE.
BRONX, N.Y.

The forest where the dog tag was found is called Macchia Grande, and is located close to the town of Manziana, 30 kilometers to North of Rome.

We have attached a photo of the address in the Bronx and ask if anyone has any information to please get in touch with us at their earliest convenience. The phone number is 212-361-9395 and the e-mail address is info@bronx.com.

Thank you and have a great Memorial Day!

The building complex, where the address on the dog tag is follows.
