Police are searching for a robber in the Bronx who was wearing what appeared to be a police shield as he threatened customers and a worker at gunpoint inside a grocery store.

The man entered the store at 182 E. 166th Street at about 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2013 with a shield around his neck, according to police. He brandished a gun and ordered customers to the back of the store, then ordered the worker to remove money from the register.

He ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as about 35 to 40 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches and 160 pounds. He was wearing a black hat and green sweater.
