Police in the Bronx are searching for a man wanted for an attempted rape, initiated on a Manhattan-bound subway train.
Cops say the 18-year-old victim was entering the subway at 149th Street and the Grand Concourse around noon this past Friday, unsure of which train to take. This is when police say the suspect approached her and offered his assistance.
When the young woman arrived at her train stop at 125th Street and Lexington Avenue, the suspect followed her off the train. After walking alongside her, he convinced the girl to follow him into an apartment building at 2405 1st Avenue.
He then took her to the 16th floor and ordered her to undress. The victim pushed the suspect away from her, and ran to the roof of the building.
The suspect fled the location.
He is described as a black male with a medium build, about 30 to 35 years old between 5’6″ and 5’8″. The victim told police he was wearing dark glasses, a black leather jacket, white shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
