About Morrisania Neighborhood Family Care Center
Morrisania Diagnostic and Treatment Center serves the South Bronx through a two-pronged approach: providing treatment to those who need it, while at the same time emphasizing prevention. Morrisania runs one of the oldest School Health Programs in New York City and serves four schools through five school-based clinics. These clinics ensure access to free primary medical, dental and mental health care to children who have unmet health needs. Morrisania takes a multi-disciplinary approach to helping children with a variety of targeted mental health services for children, adolescents and adults. Its Child Developmental Clinic, certified by the New York State Office of Mental Retardation, provides diagnostic evaluation and treatment for children from birth to 18 years of age. Its Women’s Health Services attends to a wide variety of primary care services for women.
CheckSpring Bank at http://www.checkspring.com is a community development bank founded in 2007 and headquartered in the South Bronx. CheckSpring is committed to serving the financial needs of unbanked/underbanked communities. Its founders created the bank as a response to the apparent lack of banking services available within these communities. Their mission is to close this gap by providing individuals with opportunities to enter the mainstream financial realm and establish credit. CheckSpring’s innovative suite of banking services, convenient locations, hours of operation, and the bank’s ability to provide immediate access to funds is designed to meet the needs of local customers and facilitate savings and wealth creation.
