On Friday, August 2, 2024, at approximately 1831 hours, police responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress in front of 1600 Sedgwick Avenue, within the confines of the 46th Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 47-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the head.
EMS responded and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 17-year-old male individual was arrested and charged on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 1418 hours, within the confines of the 46th Precinct.

- murder in the 2nd degree;
- manslaughter in the 1st degree;
- criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree.
The investigation remains ongoing.
