A manhunt for a suspect wanted for “arson and terroristic threat charges” led police to uncover a large pile of marijuana and cash in Crown Heights on Friday night.

NYPD officers were assisting police from Jersey City who were searching for the unnamed suspect—their quest led them to an apartment at 899 Montgomery Street, where police say a man at the residence opened the door and let them inside, despite the large amount of weed sitting on a table in plain sight.

The NYPD arrested the three people in the apartment on charges of criminal possession of marijuana. They then obtained a search warrant, and police say a subsequent search of the home ultimately turned up 97 pounds of marijuana and $931,000 in cash.

Humphrey Olivo, 36, and Yazmin Olivo, 30, who reside at the address, were charged with

Criminal Possession of Marijuana, Criminal Sale of Marijuana, and Criminal Use of Marijuana. Jose Pichardo, a Lower East Side resident, was charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana, Criminal Sale of Marijuana, and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia. It is unclear if the suspected arsonist has been apprehended.

Friday’s bust occurred a little over a week after the DEA and other investigators seized hundreds of pounds of marijuana from an alleged Bronx gang, marking what can only be regarded as a decisive victory in the War on Drugs.
