On Saturday, February 28, 2026, at approximately 0640 hours, New York City Police Department (NYPD) police officers responded to a 911 call of an assault inside 956 Sherman Avenue, within the confines of the 44th Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 42-year-old female with stab wounds to the neck, torso and back and a 16-year-old male with stab wounds to the neck and back.
EMS responded and transported both victims to NYC Health + Hospitals / Lincoln, where the 42-year-old female was pronounced deceased, and the 16-year-old male is listed in stable condition.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
