The team behind the film The Book of Harth announced today that the film will make its Bronx premiere at Cinema On The Sound on Saturday March 23, 2024 at 7:09 p.m. Director Pierre Guillet and the subject David Greg Harth will participate in a live Q&A with the audience after the screening. .

Pierre Guillet’s debut documentary feature received the Best Documentary Feature Award at the Atlanta Underground Film Festival, the Rhode Island International Film Festival, Kevin Smith’s Smodcastle Film Festival and Festival of Cinema NYC.

The Book of Harth focuses on Brooklyn–based conceptual artist David Greg Harth and his quest to complete a 20-year-long participatory artwork, “The Holy Bible Project.” His project explores the intersection of art, religion, and celebrity culture—and includes more than 1,800 participants. Viewers will learn of the obsession and dedication that drove Harth for two decades and brought him in direct contact with celebrities such as Bono, Dr. Dre, David Bowie, Marina Abramović, Robert Rauschenberg, Ai Weiwei, Meryl Streep, George Clooney, Paul Newman, Bill Clinton, John McCain, Al Sharpton, Ava DuVernay, Jonathan Demme, Guillermo del Toro, Muhammad Ali, Pelé, and Caitlyn Jenner and other notable public figures.

To illustrate the epic journey, the documentary features a number of interviews with the artist as well as John Waters, Noam Chomsky, Wim Delvoye and Kevin Smith, as well as recordings of Harth in action, and archival material.

The feature presentation will be preceded by the short film “Bootleggers Return to The Bronx” featuring members of the East Bronx History Forum.

Cinema On The Sound is located at 270 City Island Ave Bronx NY 10464. Tickets are available now and attendees will have a chance to purchase exclusive signed DVD copies of the film.
