Staff Sergeant Ugarte received a battle field promotion from Sergeant to Staff Sergeant on July 1, 2018 by Lieutenant General Funk – the COMBINED JOINT TASK FORCE-OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE Commander for exceptional performance while deployed to Baghdad, Iraq.

Staff Sergeant Ugarte is from Bronx, NY and graduated from New Rochelle High School in 2009. His father name is David Ugarte and Mothers name is Ivone Simms.
