Seven People Arrested After Cocaine Bust In Cortland

Three Cortland women, three Cortland men and one Bronx woman were arrested following a cocaine bust in Cortland Friday afternoon.

The Cortland County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant that resulted in police finding between $4,500 to $5,000 worth of pre-packaged cocaine, $1,500 in cash, drug paraphernalia, a .22 caliber rifle and a small amount of marijuana at a home located at 11 Denti Way, authorities said. Police also found and arrested Rodney Paro, 48, of Cortland; Nancy Hoy, 48, of Cortland; Aisha Morales, 32, of Bronx; Mickayla O’donnell, 21, of Cortland; Nikki Perkins, 44, of Cortland; Brian Carroll, 48, of Cortland; and Andrew Phillips, 22, of Cortland.

Paro was charged with felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and criminally using drug paraphernalia, police said. He is being held in jail without bail.

Hoy was arrested on charges of felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally using drug paraphernalia, deputies said. She is being held in jail and her bail is set to $10,000 cash or a $20,000 bond.

Morales was arrested on charges of felony third-degree possession of a controlled substance and criminally using drug paraphernalia, and she received an unlawful possession of marijuana violation, authorities said. Morales was taken to jail, where she is being kept for $50,000 cash bail or a $100,000 bond.

O’donell is facing charges of felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally using drug paraphernalia, a Cortland County Sheriff’s Office press release stated. She is in jail and her bail is set to $1,500 cash or a $3,000 bond.

Perkins was arrested on charges of felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally using drug paraphernalia, the news release stated. She was taken to jail and her bail was set to $500 cash or a $1,000 bond. 

Carroll was arrested on charges of felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally using drug paraphernalia, police said. He was taken to jail, where he was being held for $500 cash bail or a $1,000 bond.

Phillips was arrested on a charge of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and received a violation for unlawful possession of marijuana, deputies said. He was taken to jail, where he was being kept for $500 cash bail or a $1,000 bond.

All seven were arraigned in Cortland City Court Friday evening, and they have to return to court Monday morning, officers said. Additional charges are possible in the ongoing investigation.

The Cortland County Drug Task Force, composed of the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office, Cortland Police Department and Homer Police Department, were assisted by the Tactical Response Unit, made up of the members of the Cortland Police Department and the sheriff’s office.
