P.S. 55 celebrated its 100th birthday today in Claremont.
The school, which serves students from pre-K to fifth grade, says it’s had more than 126,000 students over the past 100 years.
“For me, anything that’s 100 years old shows durability, sustainability and strength,” says Principal Luis Torres.
Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. visited the school for today’s celebration.
