The New York City Water Board has scheduled six public hearings for the FY2011 water rate proposal: one evening hearing in each of the five boroughs and an additional afternoon hearing to take place in Manhattan.

The proposed FY2011 water rate was presented to the Water Board on April 9, 2010 by the Department of Environmental Protection, which is responsible for proposing a water rate that meets the financial obligations required to provide water and wastewater services to New York City residents.

Following the scheduled six public hearings, the Water Board will formally adopt the FY2011 water rate on May 21, 2010 and the new rate will become effective on July 1, 2010.

For the hearing in Bronx, the doors open at 6:00 pm; public hearing begins at 7:00 pm. The location is Public School 14, 3041 Bruckner Boulevard, Bronx, NY 10461.
