The listener is propelled into the “emotions of joy, uncertainty, and comfort, brought on by the rollercoaster ride of what is love,” gleams bandmate Nick.
Nick and Josh Anthony, founders of 1L Music and lifelong friends, faced two unique musical journeys that brought them together. Fear and depression struck Nick in his younger years, with the tribulations of how to fulfill the daunting task known as the “American Dream.” Whereas Nick saw music as a distraction, Josh joined his church singing group and realized that music was an equalizer: regardless of his social class, he could be a part of something larger than himself. Making music was the first time neither Nick nor Josh felt alone. After performing for weddings and throughout NYC in 2019, the crowds’ electric energy motivated them to turn their passion into careers. Help Identify An Assault Suspect

The New York City Police Department is asking the public’s assistance identifying the following individual, depicted in the attached surveillance photograph and video clip, who is wanted in connection to an assault, that occurred within the confines of the 42nd Precinct in the Bronx.

The Bronx Documentary Center (BDC) is very proud to announce that all 6 Bronx Junior Photo League (BJPL) students, who submitted work to the 2021 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, received regional recognition for 39 pieces of photography, film, writing, and art portfolios.
Anastasia Cardona, Lucki Islam, Fanta Diop, and Chloe Rodriguez, all 12th grade students, who have been with the BJPL for many years, received Gold Key recognition for a total of 16 Gold Key awards.
A photo by Fanta Diop was also named an American Visions Nominee, 1 of 5 works, from across all categories and grades, selected as the “Best-of-Show” for each local program, and Lucki Islam’s Gold Key-winning photography portfolio will allow her to be considered for a scholarship award.
Gold Keys are considered the very best works submitted to local programs and will advance on to be judged nationally by an impressive panel of creative–industry experts and will have their work exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art beginning from March 19 – May 21, 2021.
