The Jews of Color Initiative (JoCI) will host a community-wide gathering in New York City on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. ET, bringing together Jews of Color and allies for an evening centered on storytelling, connection, and community.
The event, organized by the JoCI New York Pro Network, aims to highlight and celebrate the multiracial reality of the Jewish community. Through live storytelling inspired by the format of The Moth, participants will share personal narratives—told without notes—that reflect lived experiences, identity, and belonging.
In addition to storytelling, attendees will have opportunities to connect, network, and share a meal in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
The Jews of Color Initiative works to advance racial equity within the United States Jewish community, ensuring that institutions and communal spaces reflect the full diversity of Jewish life.

About the Jews of Color Initiative
The Jews of Color Initiative’s mission is to advance racial equity in the U.S. Jewish community by centering the leadership of Jews of Color and ensuring that our communities and institutions reflect the multiracial reality of the Jewish people.
The Jews of Color Initiative works to build a truly multiracial, anti-racist Jewish community in which Jews of Color can experience joy and reach their full potential and belonging as leaders and community members. To do so requires creating structural and communal support for Jews of Color and expanding the field of knowledge about our community.
