The Lehman College and Community Chamber Orchestra will present “Pastorale—Masterworks for Orchestra Celebrating the Spring Season” on Wednesday, May 16, in the Music Building on the Lehman College campus. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. and admission is free. (A donation is suggested.)
Directed by Kyunghun Kim, the Chamber Orchestra’s Spring Concert will feature excerpts from W. A. Mozart’s Symphony No. 41 “Jupiter” and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2, Christoph Gluck’s Danse des Champs Elysées, and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s Procession of the Nobles.
The performance of Gluck’s Danse des Champs Elysées will spotlight flute soloists Kelly León and Juan C. Báez Jr., both majoring in music at Lehman College.
Kyunghun Kim holds a position as the Orchestra Director and string faculty member at Lehman College.
Additionally, he is the Music Director of The Doctors Orchestral Society of New York, the Principal Associate Conductor of Ensemble 212 (a New York-based orchestra) and the Music Director of Ensemble Con Cuore, a chamber orchestra based in South Korea. Professor Kim frequently appears as a guest conductor with major South Korean orchestras.
