The Lehman Chamber Players will present a concert featuring works by Johannes Brahms, Claude Debussy and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart on Sunday, October 14 at 02:00 p.m. in the Music Building on the Lehman College campus. The concert is open to the public and admission is free; donations are welcome.
The Lehman Chamber Players for this concert include violinist Anton Miller, a critically acclaimed soloist and concertmaster who has appeared on stages around the US, Europe and Asia; violist Rita Porfiris, a recipient of Austria’s prestigious Prix Mercure and a founding member of the Plymouth Quartet; cellist Hamilton Berry, who has performed with contemporary music orchestras like Novus NY and pop icons like Debbie Harry and Björk; and pianist Diana Mittler-Battipaglia, professor of music and choral director at Lehman College and co-founder of the Con Brio Ensemble.
The program for the upcoming Lehman Chamber Players concert will include the dramatic Piano Quartet No. 1 in G minor, Op. 25, the impressionistic Sonata for Cello and Piano in D minor by Debussy, and the melodious String Duo No. 2 in B-flat major for Violin and Viola, K. 424 by Mozart.
Lehman College of The City University of New York is located at Goulden Avenue and Bedford Park Boulevard in the northwest Bronx. The campus is accessible by public transportation (bus as well as the #4 and “D” subway lines.) Attended parking is also available.
