On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at approximately 1406 hours, New York City Police Department (NYPD) police officers responded to a signal of a male, shot at E. 183rd Street and Hughes Avenue, within the confines of the 48th Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 19-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest.
EMS responded and transported the aided male to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
