Dear Reader,
Because of supporters like you, our end-of-year campaign was a wonderful success. Your impact is already being felt at KHCC every day.
Maya’s story is uniquely hers, yet shared by so many. Walk into KHCC on any given day and you will meet:

Carlos, our lead ESOL educator, who first came to KHCC at 8 years old as one of the first Tween participants. His mother, Maria, spent more than 20 years helping parents navigate resources through our ECS program. Today, he helps strengthen families and grow our community.
Sadie, our Chief Program Officer, who counsels young people and coaches the next generation of social workers. After 24 years, she is still encouraging staff to take on new leadership roles, building dynamic programs for the neighborhood, and fostering vital partnerships.
KHCC is a beacon of hope for people of all ages. We serve toddlers and teenagers, parents and grandparents, newcomers and longtime residents. We meet people exactly where they are, with what they need.
If you have not yet had a chance to give — or would like to deepen your support — there is still time to help ensure KHCC families have the stability, opportunity, and hope they deserve.
Your gift sustains a powerful cycle: from receiving help to giving back, from surviving to thriving, from uncertainty to belonging.
With gratitude,
Raye Barbieri
CEO
About Kingsbridge Heights Community Center
The Kingsbridge Heights Community Center (KHCC) was founded in 1974 by a group of passionate community organizers. The group was led by three neighborhood women: Mary McLoughlin, Patricia Burns, and Janet Athanasidy.
Upon hearing in 1972 that the 50th Precinct was moving out of its turn-of-the-century building on Kingsbridge Terrace, the three jumped at the opportunity to realize their vision for a community center.
KHCC provides resources to empower Bronx residents from cradle to career to advance education and well-being for a vibrant community. We achieve this in an environment that fosters academic milestones, literacy, mental health support, nutrition, technology, and the arts.
