On Sunday, January 25, 2026, at approximately 0250 hours, New York City Police Department (NYPD) police officers responded to a 911 call of an assault at the intersection of W. 242nd Street and Broadway, within the confines of the 50th Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 35-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the knee and a 44-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the chest.
EMS responded and transported the 44-year-old male to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased and the 35-year-old male to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.
