It was reported to police that on Friday, August 23, 2024 at approximately 0040 hours, the victim, a 16-year-old male was walking in the corner of Bryant Avenue and Jennings Street, when an unidentified male individual fired a gun shot at the victim, causing him to sustain a gunshot wound to the neck.
The male individual fled northbound on Bryant Avenue. The victim was removed to NYC Health + Hospitals / North Central Bronx St. Barnabas Hospital in critical but stable condition.
The victim succumbed to his injuries on Friday, October 4, 2024. This incident is now being investigated as a homicide.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.
