On Saturday, February 15, 2020, at approximately 2320 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision on the Bruckner Expressway at Wheeler Avenue within the confines of the 43rd Precinct in Bronx.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 25-year-old male was operating a 2019 Ford Fiesta northbound on the Bruckner Expressway in the right lane, when he rear-ended a 2017 Ford Explorer, operated by a 37-year-old male.
After the impact the 2019 Ford Fiesta struck a light pole which was affixed to the cement divider.
Both operators were removed to NYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi in serious condition.
On Sunday, February 16, 2020, the 25-year-old male operator succumbed to his injuries.
