On Monday, June 8, 2026, at approximately 1433 hours, New York City Police Department (NYPD) police officers responded to a 911 call of a person, shot in the vicinity of East Tremont Avenue and White Plains Road, within the confines of the 43rd Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers were informed that a 41-year-old male had been shot in the abdomen while aboard a BX36 bus by an unidentified individual.
The individual fled the location in an unknown direction.
EMS responded and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi, where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
