After graduating from Northwestern University, dynamic vocalist and songwriter Janelle Kroll will perform in concert at Arlenes Grocery on Saturday, July 18 at 7:00 PM, as part of her upcoming Summer tour. Tickets for the event are $10.00. A limited number of guest passes are available upon request.

Featured in Macys Ragged Road Documentary, Janelle Krolls radiant personality and potent vocals have captivated audiences throughout Chicago, in venues including SPACE, Bills Blues, Uncommon Ground, and 1800 Club. She also landed a live spot at the Z100 party at the Apple Soho store in New York City, with other notable cast members of Ragged Road.

Blowing from the Windy City is a young lady with lovely eyes and a beautiful smile and a great set of pipes. I have seen the future of rock n kroll Her name is Janelle, raves Paul Kramer, Editor of Hit Sheet Magazine.

Tracks off Krolls debut EP reveal a unique blend of singer/songwriter simplicity and pop refinement, akin to artists like Alicia Keys, Jewel, and Dusty Springfield. She employs not only her unique vocal talent, but also her love for meticulously crafted songs, fusing rock, blues, and pop with playful, beguiling lyrics.

In an interview with The Daily Northwestern, Janelle described her passion for creating unique, substantial work. “During [my] junior year an indie label offered to sign me but I would have been just a singer, not a songwriter, so I didn’t take it, and ultimately it was the right decision because I’m happy with where I am now.”
