Dear Friends & CVH Family,
The holidays are upon us and New York State is experiencing a second CoViD-19 surge. A vaccine is on the horizon, but this crisis – which has already taken so many – is not going anywhere anytime soon. CoViD-19 has cost our state millions of jobs, impacted the education of our children, and threatened the physical and mental health of millions.
Communities Voices Heard is partnering with United Today, Stronger Tomorrow to ensure that the handling of the crisis and the rebuilding of our economy centers the needs of communities hit hardest by this pandemic. This includes women, people of color, and immigrants. We believe that when it is all over, every New Yorker should be stronger. That means easily accessible safe and free vaccines, investments in job creation, and an economy that benefits us all.
In the coming weeks, we will meet with New Yorkers to develop a plan that strengthens protections for folks struggling to make ends meet because of job loss, reduced hours, and/or the inability to return to work safely. We are building a team of community members ready to join in and fight for solutions that keep us safe, keep us healthy, and keep our families fed.
Here is how you can get involved:
- Take our CoViD-19 issue survey today. Tell us how the pandemic has impacted you. If you’ve already taken the survey, share it with friends.
- Sign up for our text list. This is the best way to make sure you are up to date on any important news and actions.
- Connect with us and other concerned citizens on Facebook.
If we are UNITED TODAY, we can be STRONGER TOMORROW – and create real reasons to be thankful.
Sincerely,
Afua Atta MensahExecutive Director, Community Voices Heard
