Help Identify An Attempted Robbery Suspect

The New York City Police Department is asking the public’s assistance identifying the individual depicted in the attached surveillance video and photo in connection to an attempted robbery that occurred within the confines of the 46 Precinct in Bronx.

Details are as follows.

It was reported to police that on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 0830 hours, at the southeast corner of University Avenue and West Tremont Avenue, an unidentified individual approached the 47-year-old female victim, grabbed her purse and tried to forcibly remove it. The victim fell to the ground holding on to the purse, while the individual dragged the victim trying to remove the purse. The victim did not relinquish the purse and the individual fled westbound on West Tremont Avenue towards Andrews Avenue. The victim sustained minor injuries but refused medical attention. There was no property taken.

The individual is described as a male Hispanic, approximately 18-years-old, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, gray sweatpants and black boots.
