A 67-year-old man with dementia disappeared Friday, and his frantic family is pleading for the public’s help to find him.
Herberto Rodriguez was last seen about 2:30 p.m. Friday at his home along Avenue St. John in the Longwood section of Bronx.
He left his apartment in the family’s blue 1993 Ford Explorer, which was found empty Saturday morning along 45th Street between 10th and 11th avenues. Carmen Rodriguez said her father used to work in that westside Manhattan neighborhood, but she is unsure why he would have gone there Friday.
Rodriguez, who also responds to Eddy, is easily confused and may have early on-set dementia, his daughter said.
He does not have his medication, cellphone, identification or money with him. He also recently underwent a procedure and has a catheter.
The missing man is described as about 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds with shoulder length salt and pepper hair. He was last seen wearing a blue veteran’s hat with yellow letters, light blue jeans, a football jersey and blue windbreaker.
Anyone with information or who may have spotted Rodriguez is urged to call police.
