Community members in Castle Hill say they want the city to install speed bumps along a stretch of Gleason Avenue to slow down vehicles they claim are racing down the street.

The particular stretch is between Zerega Avenue and Havemeyer Street.

We reached out to the Department of Transportation, which said it studied the section and found that speed bumps would not be feasible due to multiple driveways and curb cuts.

DOT officials also said there have been no reported fatalities along the stretch since 2009.

Neighbors told us they would prefer more street signs along the roadway to deter vehicles from speeding and potentially hitting someone walking nearby.
