Buffalo State had a strong day in a non-scored meet at the Brockport Invitational, winning six events and seeing a school record fall in another.
Treasure Glymph (Bronx/Truman) earned first place in the triple jump with a mark of 11.14 meters, the 15th ranked jump in the nation this season. Julia Smith (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) added a first-place finish in the 5,000-meter run, clocking 19:33.37, while Sasa Vann (Mastic Beach/Bishop McGann-Mercy) crossed first in the 500-meter run (1:20.24).
Freshman Niasha Houpe (Mastic Beach/William Floyd) claimed the 60-meter dash in 8.08 seconds, and Tara Murphy (Rochester/Wilson Magnet) also captured an individual event, winning the 800-meter run in 2:25.62.
Vann, Murphy, Jazlyn Porter(Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) and Nia Holmes (Hartsdale/Woodlands) also teamed up to win the 4×400-meter relay with a time of 4:13.29.
Heather Becker (Sanborn/Starpoint) bettered her own school record in the pole vault for the second-consecutive week, clearing 3.15 meters.
Buffalo State will compete at the Boston University Valentine Invitational next Friday.
