Minetta Curtis has been struggling to get back on her feet after her daughter had an accident that left her unable to pitch in and a fire damaged her Bronx home.
But on Friday, her “prayers were answered” when PIX11’s Lisa Mateo knocked on her door with a huge check for $18,000, name out in her name.
Curtis was born and raised in the Bronx and has been living in her home for 20 years. Flames recently damaged her apartment, but neighbors pitched in to help and she’s grateful it wasn’t lost completely.
Curtis said she entered PIX11’s Home Free Friday contest earlier this year and when she learned the life-changing contest had returned, she played every day.
