City of Newburgh Police responded to the area of South Street and Chambers Street on Tuesday, March 07, 2017, just before 12:30 a.m., for a report of shots fired.
When patrol officers arrived in the area they observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Chambers Street.
Police said the vehicle briefly stopped and the front passenger exited the vehicle and ran into 168 Chambers Street.
Officers Rivera and Gliedman followed the individual inside and located him along with a loaded .45 caliber handgun, and 29 grams of marijuana.
He was placed under arrest and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd a Class C Felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd a Class D Felony, and Criminal Possession of Marijuana 5th a Class B Misdemeanor.
Brown was held pending arraignment in City Court.
