On Friday, May 24, 2024, at approximately 1757 hours, New York City Police Department (NYPD) officers responded to a 911 call for a person, shot at 1825 Topping Avenue, within the confines of the 46th Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 37-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the right leg. The 37-year-old male was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 29-year-old male individual was arrested and charged on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at approximately 1450 hours, within the confines of the 46th Precinct.

- murder in the 2nd degree;
- aggravated manslaughter in the 1st degree;
- criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree.
The investigation remains ongoing.
