On Tuesday, December 22, 2020, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. will join DJ Ralphie Mercado, DJ Sam Real, and DJ King Khan as they cap off the holiday season with a live-stream charity event benefiting hungry families in need in the Bronx.

“Beats To Feed The Bronx,” produced by InPlayer, JW Player, and The Khanate Group will feature the DJs spinning Hip-Hop, Reggae, Salsa, Merengue, R&B, and Old-School grooves to raise much-needed funds for Part Of The Solution (POTS).

POTS is one of the many multi-service anti-poverty agencies that has helped low-income individuals and families in the Bronx since it first started as a soup kitchen in 1982. The organization’s resources have been stretched thin in light of the global pandemic, with POTS having already served over 2,000,000 people — more than double the number served in the same period a year ago.

The “Beats To Feed The Bronx” live-stream event was created to help POTS secure the funds needed to meet the increased demand for food caused by the CoViD-19 virus, and 100% of the proceeds raised from the event will go to POTS.

“Music has such a magical way of bringing not only great joy to us all, but also has a way of bringing people together to help one another out,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. “Events like ‘Beats To Feed The Bronx’ are not only what we can do in the name of the holiday spirit, but what we can do as a community during our greatest time of need. I want to thank InPlayer, JW Player, and The Khanate Group for putting this great benefit together, and helping POTS continue their mission to help our most vulnerable communities.”

“POTS is honored to see the outpouring of support, both moral and financial, for the community we have been serving for nearly 40 years. This support has been coming from all over the greater New York area and beyond, but it is most touching when it comes from within The Bronx community as is happening with ‘Beats to Feed The Bronx,’” added Christina Hanson, POTS Executive Director.

“One of JW Player’s core values is championing and helping our community,” said JW Player’s Chief Strategy Officer Jin Sha. “We are excited and honored to support Part Of The Solution as they do their best to provide meals to Bronx families who need it the most.”

“We are very happy to be supporting the Bronx Borough President’s Office with our technology. By making online donations secure and easier, we are proud to contribute and help the work of POTS in alleviating the impact of the pandemic on the most vulnerable people,” said InPlayer’s CEO George Meek.

“When I saw how CoViD was devastating families and lives in the borough, I wanted to do something to help out,” said Yussuf Khan, CEO & Founder of The Khanate Group. “I am grateful that InPlayer, JW Player, POTS, and the Borough President’s Office came together so quickly to support this critical event every step of the way without hesitation.”
