On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at approximately 1932 hours, New York City Police Department (NYPD) police officers responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress at Williamsbridge Oval Playground, within the confines of the 52nd Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 17-year-old male with stab wounds to his abdomen and shoulder and a 14-year-old male with multiple stab wounds throughout his body.
The 17-year-old male was transported by private means to Montefiore Medical Center and is in stable condition.
The 14-year-old male was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi in critical condition, where he was pronounced deceased by hospital staff.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
