Allen M. Faulkner, 73, a longtime Yonkers resident, died June 4, 2013, at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in Bronx.
He was born June 18, 1939 to Leopoldo and Sylvia Faulkner in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, according to Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, which is handling his funeral arrangements and published his obituary. He was a graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School in Bronx, earned a B.A. in business administration from Mercy College and a master’s from Long Island University. Faulkner was employed by Gruman Aircraft Engineering for several years. He was then a salesman of medical products for Respiratory Care in New York City for several years.
An airman 2nd class stationed in Plattsburg, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959 to 1962. He was a longtime member of the Eastern Paralyzed Veterans of America and a licensed pilot for the Federal Aviation Administration. He enjoyed flying and tennis.
On February 27, 1960, he married his wife, Sylvia Anglero, at Our Lady of Grace Church in Bronx. She survives her husband and lives in Yonkers.
Also surviving are two sons, Robert Faulkner of Ossining and Richard Faulkner and his wife, Margie, of South Amboy, NJ; a daughter, Maria McClernan of Mohegan Lake; four sisters, Doris Rodriguez, Shirley Faulkner Walters, Bianca Jackson and Rita Morales; and six grandchildren.
Faulkner was preceded in death by a brother, Victor Morales.
Calling hours are from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013 at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Avenue, Yonkers. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at the funeral home and a funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. A service will be held in the Ferncliff Crematory Chapel, 280 Secor Road, Hartsdale, at 11:00 a.m. with cremation to follow.
