Police have arrested a 16-year-old in the April 13 slaying of a man repeatedly stabbed in the thigh during a fight over money in Bronx.
Jeremiah Melendez was charged Friday with second-degree murder in the vicious attack on Ronnie Gardner, 28, on Sedgwick Avenue near W. 197 Street, police said.
According to the victim’s fiancé, Gardner was on his way to “give some money to somebody that he owed,” when he was killed.
Police sources said Melendez is believed to have stabbed the victim, while three other men allegedly were part of an initial bottle-throwing assault.
