On Monday August 20, 2018 at approximately 20:38 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Wissman Avenue and Throgs Neck Expressway Service Road within the confines of the 45th Precinct in Bronx.
Upon arrival, police officers observed a 23-year-old male with head trauma lying on the roadway.
EMS responded and transported a 47-year-old male in stable condition and a 23-year-old male in serious condition to Jacobi Hospital. A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2018 Jeep Cherokee operated by a 47-year-old male travelling southbound on the Throgs Neck Expressway service road attempted to make a left turn onto eastbound Wissman Avenue when he collided into a 2018 Yamaha ATV.
The 23-year-old male operator who was travelling northbound on the Throgs Neck Expressway service road succumbed to his injuries on Friday, August 31st, 2018. The 47-year-old male was arrested and charged.
