Officials say firefighters are battling a blaze in the Bronx that has injured six people.

A fire department spokesman says the extent of the victims’ injuries was not immediately known. He says they are all civilians.

The spokesman says there’s heavy fire in two buildings.

The blaze was reported at 7:32 a.m. Wednesday at 3311 Decatur Avenue and quickly went to a third alarm. Thirty-three units and 138 firefighters and other fire personnel are on the scene.

The spokesman described the buildings as multiple dwelling, about two to three stories high.
